Our business is a major supplier of butterflies to both personal buyers and many of the established release agents within Australia. For 40 years I have reared many Australian species of butterflies and it’s with this knowledge of, and experience with butterflies I have established this business
I began my quest for butterflies aged 8 while living near Habana in NTH Queensland. I would wander through the swamps, rainforests, and open bushland collecting butterflies, learning about their food plants, and their preferred environments. Some species have symbiotic relationships with ants and require specific Mistletoes to feed on, and it's these and other amazing factors that make this pursuit exciting.
During my 40 years, I have discovered new food plants and some new localities for a number of Australian butterflies and this has been published in Michael Braby’s brilliant book on Australian Butterflies.
Through establishing Jewels of the Sky, We have made available to the public the opportunity to experience this beautiful insect as a flying adult and also in pupae form.
